Who Is Your Master

fruit

In today’s world we have so many choices, choices that are both good and evil. Choices on what to put before our eyes, ears and what to put in our mouth. I must say the mouth is the one I struggle with most. I love food, the tastes, textures, especially the sweets and treats. Yet what we eat is one of the most important issues when it comes to our health. I have found that I often allow special celebrations to influence my food choices, I give in, I eat what I know I shouldn’t….I get sick.

Inevitable consequences to my own actions. The occasional acceptance of “unhealthy” food is some thing we shouldn’t be too concerned with. The concern comes when we allow ourselves to walk in a pattern of poor habits. Not only is this a detrimental path but it is a sinful path that is not in line with הדרך haderek…The Way…The Path of our Messiah.

I love healthy, whole, natural foods created by our Abba and I love eating our herbal medicines as foods. In the past I have been on my knees for failing to put into my body only what is real food that God created and that provides life to His temple…my body. On my knees in teshuvah (repentance), knowing that God can give me the strength to walk with Him down this path of health, no matter the challenges. So I encourage anyone who has stumbled in their healthy eating or natural healing lifestyle to refocus, get down on your knees, make teshuvah and know that God forgives and strengthens.

We all have challenges such as;  fast pace, living with others with different habits, low source of money, etc. Let’s not let our food become our master instead of our Master Yeshua. We want no thing to become  like an idol where we let it control us and produce actions that do not honor our Master….This can happen even with something like food that is also a  necessity. Regularly making wise whole food choices can be part of a blessed life of wellness.

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.
Jas 4:7-10
