Getting to The Root of My Diet

After receiving my miraculous healing from Abba I still had much work to do. I think the healing opened my eyes to how I had been living. No, not really living, barely surviving. With no energy to make meals I had allowed myself to get into the horrible habit of microwave meals. I soon recognized that my body was extremely toxic and even malnourished and that I most likely had all kinds of deficiencies and imbalances. I had also been on over a dozen medications that had wreaked havoc on my body. As well as chemotherapy and radiation.

My chiropractor’s wife loaned me some videos on a raw diet. I knew immediately this was how I was to detoxify my body. I was blessed by my mom with the book called Living On Live, and proceeded to change my diet all at once. I continued eating a raw diet at least 95% of the time for about 6 months. In hindsight most people need to change their diet more gradual to allow their body to adjust to the change, however through prayer I felt I was to change immediately and God blessed me in it. One thing I noticed on this diet was while at an oneg (joy, fellowship meal) I would eat cooked food that was basically non organic junk and would immediately respond with diarrhea. I was able to recognize foods that I definitely react to and should not eat. I also noticed increased energy and strength as I continued on the diet.

Through this diet after 6 months I was slowly able to add whole healthy, organic, cooked food including healthy organic, grass-fed, free range, kosher meat and raw dairy products. In fact I added no other supplements or vitamins accept an herbal supplement for hormone balance for almost a year after my healing. I believe my body truly needed a break from everything but nourishing food.

A raw diet is a great way to detox your body, and can also work as an elimination diet to determine allergies and food sensitivities. Some people may benefit from a raw food diet for 3-6 months.  A complete raw vegan diet as a  long-term lifestyle can create deficiencies. I truly feel that a biblical diet outside of the garden of Eden includes a moderate amount of healthy animal products and cooked foods but also includes large amounts of raw food.
