Health Care Crisis

America is said to be in a “health care crisis” at this time. Everyone including the government is looking for solutions. Believers all over have decided they want nothing to do with the new Affordable Care Act. I feel there are several reasons for believers to avoid participating, such as: government funding of abortion, and the establishment of socialized medicine in America. We as believers do have the choice to participate in a medical sharing program instead. Here is an article with information on this option.

The American Botanical Council has put out an article titled “Will ‘Obamacare’ Affect Natural Healthcare.” It is definitely worth the read.

What is The Real Crisis

Many people believe that the crisis is that people are uninsured. While I can see how many feel that is a crisis, I don’t think it is the “true crisis.”

The “true crisis” is that Americans are chronically sick, and over medicated. When feeling sickness today most people reach for a pill or immediately run to the doctors. Yet people aren’t getting well.

Whether or not you are for the Affordable Care Act or not one thing is certain, a mindset change towards health care is needed. When using biblical based holistic care each individual learns how to look to God’s created medicine first. Using herbs and supplements encourages the body to heal itself as God created it. The focus also changes to prevention and a lifestyle of wellness instead of disease care and medication. This way health and wellness are put back into the individual’s hands. Doctors visits can and should be utilized when there are issues that can not be cared for at home.

Seeking God, Seeking His Creation

As believers when we experience symptoms of illness our first step is always to seek God. If we change our mindset our next step can be to seek His creation for healing herbs and nutrients (An emergency may require immediate medical assistance). Synthetic medications do not usually heal but instead cover symptoms. Every medication has a huge list of side effects. Gods creation can be used safely to help the body bring about healing naturally. That doesn’t mean there are no safety considerations with using herbs or supplements. It is always wise to be fully informed about every supplement you use.
